You never know who will pop up in the barber’s chair, but when it comes to picking one person out of a line-up, big name actor Martin Compston has got to be a sure winner.

Martin was in Lewis this week with co-host Phil McHugh, filming for an episode of their new BBC travel show.

He’d already been blown away by Harris, promising Hearachs that Harris FC is the only football club he would ever consider playing for.

And Sam’s Barber Shop in Keith Street was the venue for a close shave and a neat trim yesterday (Wednesday 6 April) when the celebrity stepped in to claim his place in the queue for a cut.

Barber Ousama Al Nakeeb did the honours, styling Martin’s beard and making sure, as he put it “it was done to the letter of the law. All in the line of duty.”

Looking on were sons Abdullah, Anas and Majd, with even baby Yazan getting in on the celebrity photoshoot.

Elsewhere in Lewis, Martin and Phil met up with Hebridean Baker Coinneach Macleod, who said he can’t wait to show viewers what the pair cooked up in his Cromore kitchen.

Pictures show the celebrity visitors at Sam’s Barbers, in Lochs and in Harris during their tour.
