On Friday 18 March 2022, The Crofting Commission Elections 2022 were declared at the count in the Town House in Inverness.

The results were as follows:

The Western Isles:

•            Iain M MacIver, Laxay, Isle of Lewis – 684 votes

•            John MacAulay, Breanish, Uig, Isle of Lewis – 557 votes

East Highlands:

•            Kenneth Hardie (22)

•            Rod MacKenzie 142

•            Archie Macnab 51

•            Robert Merees 89

Rod MacKenzie was elected at stage 2

South West Highlands:

•            Colin Kennedy 170

•            William Neilson 142

•            Craig Ward 27

Shetland:

•            Duncan Gray 246

•            Andrew Holt (44)

•            Lauraine Manson 244

Duncan Gray was elected at stage 2

Orkney and Caithness:

•            Donald MacDonald 146

•            David MacGregor 26

•            Peter Stewart 54 

West Highlands 

•            Gordon Drysdale (191)

Alongside the six elected Commissioners, there are also three other Commissioners who are directly appointed by the Scottish Ministers. All Commissioners have an equal role in leading the Crofting Commission.
