John MacAulay
Candidate
Crofting Commissioner
I was a Captain in the Merchant Navy with a Master Mariners Certificate, and a BSc degree in Applied Environmental Science.
I work primarily for Bureau Veritas as a Marine Consultant on an ad hoc basis.
I am a member of the University of the Highlands and Islands Institute Foundation, a former member of the Health & Safety Executives Biocides Committee and a former Board Member of SEPA.
When not working I live in Breanish, Uig, Isle of Lewis working around 200 sheep and 14 head of cattle, therefore not a stranger to crofting and the realities of the issues facing the crofting communities at the present time.
I am standing for election as a commissioner in the belief I can effectively contribute in assisting to resolve issues faced by individual crofters in the Western Isles.
I will be indebted to you if you can take time to vote for me at this election.
