The first of the events is on Saturday (January 29) with Cothrom at the Stoneybridge Hall between 2 and 4 pm.

The cafe events are designed as informal opportunities to meet with the local energy team and have a blether about home energy and transportation needs in future. The pop-up cafes fuelled by tea, coffee and biscuits are a chance for islanders to share their energy concerns, ask questions and provide input that will help map out the future of energy in the Uists.

There are three cafe events planned for South Uist, Benbecula, Grimsay and North Uist.

In addition, there’s an online cafe in Gaelic planned for the evening of February 10.

The Uist Local Energy Plan group is part of Community Energy Scotland. Their website is at uistlocalenergyplan.co.uk.
