At their meeting on 7th December the Presbytery of the Outer Hebrides were thankful to the Lord to be able to make arrangements for an induction in Harris.
The Harris congregation became vacant in October 2020, with the retirement of Rev. Iain Smith.
At a meeting of the Presbytery of Inverness on 30th November 2021, Rev. James Clark, who has been Minister of the Inverness congregation since 2012, accepted a Call to be Minister of the Harris congregation.
The Presbytery of the Outer Hebrides resolved that the induction of Mr Clark should take place on Friday 11th February, with public worship beginning at 7.00pm (D.V.).
Rev. Raymond Kemp (Scalpay) is to conduct the service, with Rev. Greg MacDonald (Cross) addressing the newly-inducted minister and Rev. David Blunt (North Uist & Grimsay) addressing the congregation.
The situation resulting from Covid-19 means that some details are yet to be finalised, but it is hoped that further information can be made available nearer the time.
