Lochboisdale is to lose its ferry connection to Mallaig tomorrow (Wednesday 1 December) as CalMac juggles with ferry availability and the annual overhaul programme.
Services on Friday 3 December could also be affected, with the MV Lord of the Isles delayed in the Mersey shipyards and the replacement vessel, MV Isle of Mull, due to leave for her own annual overhaul today.
CalMac’s overhaul schedule has MV Lord of the Isles expected to complete her service on 26 November and the Isle of Mull due in drydock tomorrow.
Instead, they have today posted: “As a result of delays to MV Lord of the Isles's annual overhaul and the requirement for MV Isle of Mull to depart for her own annual overhaul, the following sailings been cancelled: depart Lochboisdale 07:15, depart Mallaig - 14:00.
“Spaces are available on the Uig – Lochmaddy service for any customers who wish to rebook.
“An update for sailings on Friday 3rd December will be provided on Wednesday afternoon.”
The Lord of the Isles has this morning been moved from Tranmere, where her annual service works were carried out, to Langton Dock, on the Liverpool side of the Mersey.
