A police appeal for information has been issued today (Sunday 28 November) after a new incident of vandalism in the public toilets in Perceval Square, Stornoway.

Police said that the women’s toilets in the block were damaged sometime between 9.30am and 6pm on Saturday, with the gate to the toilet vandalised and damaged by fire, and property within the toilet also damaged.

Anyone who noticed anything untoward, or who can help with information on the incident, is asked to contact Stornoway police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number NH1427/21.

 

No helmet fine

A 28-year-old man was cautioned and charged on Scalpay Bridge on Saturday morning, after police observed him riding a motorbike without a helmet.

The man was spotted by police on patrol at 9.05am on Saturday, and was issued with a fixed penalty fine on the spot.

 

Appeal after Barra disturbance

Police were called to Castlebay in Barra in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) where a disturbance was being caused by two women.

An appeal has been issued and enquiries are continuing into the incident, at 12.05am, with both women being sought for a reported assault.
