A new group is being set up to encourage men to support each other by talking more about their mental health.

With the first meeting planned for the end of November, the group aims to get men together over a tea or coffee each week and to encourage them to talk.

The target group is men struggling with their mental health or with suicidal thoughts, and the central idea behind setting up the group is that emotions have no gender, so they shouldn’t be locked away in the dark.

You can follow the group on their new Facebook page at Hebmenhealth ( or just go along to the first session, which will be at the Fàilte centre on Bayhead from 7.30pm on Saturday 27 November.
