Only Shetland is now defying the infectious trend of Covid-19 across Scotland. But the number of heavily affected areas has fallen greatly over recent days. 

The latest update from NHS Western Isles Chief Executive Gordon Jamieson last night said the Western Isles had had 15 new cases: 3 contacts of existing cases on North Uist; 3 contacts of cases on Harris; and 9 cases on Lewis (6 contacts of existing cases and 3 new).

The lab was still processing more tests last night. These will be reported today.

The previous day a total of 17 cases had been reported.

  • 30,805 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results*

* Public Health Scotland identified an issue with test results reaching them from NHS Scotland labs since 6pm on 26 October. Any NHS tests received after this time will be included in data reported tomorrow (28 October).
