A new exhibition is open at the Grinneabhat Centre in Bragar, which also houses a restaurant and a variety of other community facilities, including a launderette.
‘Paper Jam’ features the work of Jonathan MacDonald, a young up-and-coming artist who is based in Stornoway and who has been developing his work as an abstract artist over the last number of years.
The new exhibition opened on Friday 10 September at 3pm. It is free to view and can be seen in Grinneabhat from 9am – 5pm Tuesday to Saturday.
Jonathan is a young artist based in Stornoway and has been developing his work as an abstract artist over the last number of years. His work is bright playful and colourful with his canvases full of fantastical detailed paths of colour echoing the abstract work of Paul Klee Joan Miro and Jackson Pollock.
Jonathan’s work often features shapes and lines that create visual maps but come from working intuitively from his imagination and sometimes with influences of the environment that surrounds him.
Jonathan’s work was seen in An Lanntair arts centre last year after the reopening that followed the initial pandemic lockdown.
