In a vivid demonstration of bureaucratic continuity, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar yesterday (Monday August 30) publicly invited feedback on the council's Corporate Strategy.
Apparently it's more than a year since this was last agreed and it's due to be refreshed next year.
Anyone wishing to participate in the refreshment process has to do so by 12 noon, Friday 17 September 2021.

The official statement says: "Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Corporate Strategy which was agreed in August 2020 to assist with post-COVID Recovery and Renewal, is due to be refreshed in 2022.
"To coincide with the Comhairle’s business planning process for 2022 onwards, this refresh requires to be completed by the end of the year.
"This will enable services to draw up their business plans for financial year 2022/23 and beyond based on the strategic outcomes of the new Corporate Strategy.
"The Comhairle undertook a series of community engagement exercises across the Outer Hebrides in 2019/20 and online engagement in 2020/21. The results from the Community Conversations, informs the draft Corporate Strategy 2022-2027.
"The Comhairle would like to invite comments on the draft Corporate Strategy, 2022-27 as feedback is important to ensure that outcomes have a positive impact in the areas that need them most.
"Comments received will be reviewed and the draft Corporate Strategy will be amended as appropriate.
"The final draft of the Corporate Strategy will be considered by the Policy and Resources Committee of the Comhairle on 29 September 2021."
