Another wave of disruption is spreading across the CalMac Ferries network from this weekend as the consequences of a another ferry breakdown play themselves out for travellers and businesses.

This follows disruption to the MV Hebrides services on the Skye-Harris-Uist triangle over the past few days and the decision to send her to have dry dock repairs.

The MV Hebrides is to undergo essential repairs to an oil leak in the port and starboard stern shaft seals of the vessel.

Starting from Tuesday 31 August and lasting until at least Wednesday 8 September, MV Hebrides is being withdrawn from service and her near twin, MV Clansman has been redeployed to provide cover.

Because MV Lord of the Isles will reposition to Oban to operate services from Monday 30th August until Wednesday 8th September, all sailings between Mallaig – Lochboisdale in that period have been cancelled.

And several services from Tarbert to Uig have also been cancelled.

MV Lord of the Isles with support from MV Isle of Mull will operate sailings between Oban – Coll/Tiree and as the vessels operating this service will have less capacity therefore, there is a possibility that "some traffic may be displaced" say CalMac Ferries.

The Stornoway route gains services to replace some of the lost capacity on the Harris services.    MV Loch Seaforth will operate the following additional sailings –
