A custom-built luxury yacht which swept the board on design awards in 2019 is now (Monday 21 June) sitting at anchor in Stornoway’s outer harbour. She arrived from Troon this morning.
The 74.5-metre super-yacht won awards for both interior and exterior design, styling and lifestyle design in the BOAT International Design and Innovation Awards.
Designed by British designers Harrison Eidsgaard for a UK client, Elandess (pronounced “L and S”) is made to stand out in steel and aluminium by German company Abeking and Raussen.
Her features include an eight-metre swimming pool with seating area set on a massive deck, and a partially submerged Neptune-lounge with tiered cinema-style seating and viewing windows under the waterline.
She has seven staterooms with sleeping accommodation for 14 guests and dining and entertainment areas to match. 23 crew members share 11 bedrooms.
The client and owner of the vessel wanted a yacht which would cater to four generations of his family, from very young children to elderly relatives and also wanted to use the yacht as a showcase for his art collection.
