Staff at Barra’s Citizens Advice Bureau got a massive boost and royal congratulations yesterday (Monday 7 June) as HRH the Princess Royal, Princess Anne, made a flying visit to the island.

The Princess Royal dropped in by helicopter to perform the official opening of the new Citizen’s Advice Bureau, and to present long-service awards to several of the bureau’s well-established staff members.

Welcomed in bright sunshine by pipers from Castlebay School, the Princess appeared in very good spirits and had time to chat to the small, socially-distanced group gathered to greet her.

The pictures were taken by Barrabuddie NonMac.
