The Royal National Mòd will have a ‘hybrid’ format in 2021, according to An Comunn Gaidhealach, with premier competitions held in Inverness and many other classes open for online submissions.

An Comunn have today (Thursday 3 June) published competition syllabuses for the event, which is set for 8 to 16 October 2021.

The online syllabus, similar to the one used for the online Mòd last year, will give people the opportunity to take part by submitting videos of their performances. Age ranges and disciplines have been extended to encourage as many participants as possible.

But the top level solo singing competitions, including the An Comunn Gàidhealach Gold Medal, The Mary Lamont Traditional Gold Medal and the An Comunn Gàidhealach Silver Pendant competitions, will be held at Eden Court in Inverness.

Also taking place in the traditional ‘in person’ format will be selected junior competitions including the James C MacPhee Memorial Medals, the An Comunn Gàidhealach Silver Pendant and Traditional Medals.
