Live music is back at An Lanntair for the first time in 2021 as May sees the restart of free outdoor Forecourt Gigs – with Lewis musicians Sean Harrison and Charlie Clark first up to go alfresco at An Lanntair.
An Lanntair Head of Performing Arts, Alex Macdonald, said: “We are delighted to be able to resume our forecourt sessions, particularly as it gives local musicians the opportunity to play live to an audience for the first time this year.
“We have a great line up of local talent who will undertake these gigs until current restrictions ease and we can safely welcome back both audiences and performers for live events in our auditorium.”
Sean Harrison has the honour of kicking off An Lanntair’s 2021 Forecourt Gig series, performing live at 2pm on Saturday 22nd May.
A well-known face on the island music-scene, 2020 ended on a high note for Sean with the release of new single Keep Me in Your Heart; and over the years his work has received airplay on BBC Radio One Introducing and BBC Radio Scotland with albums Silent Ovation, Chapter End, and his Billboards EP.
Usually performing with his band, An Lanntair’s first Forecourt Gig of the year offers a chance to enjoy Sean at his solo best.
And An Lanntair Forecourt Gigs continue on Saturday 29th May as songwriter and musician Charlie Clark steps up to perform alfresco. A founding member of Lewis band Astrid, and who has played with the likes of The Zephyrs, Arab Strap, Mogwai, and Snow Patrol, Charlie’s latest solo work – new single Don’t Have A Cow, Man! – was released last month on music producer Alan McGee’s It’s Creation Baby label, with new album Late Night Drinking to follow later this year.
An Lanntair Forecourt Gigs are FREE to attend, but spaces are limited to 20 seats and booking tickets is essential. Strict social distancing and health and safety measures will be in place, and Test & Protect contact details will be collected.
