The full range of emergency services in Stornoway were called upon for a festive purpose on Saturday (19 December) as a Santa convoy took to the streets around the town.
Vehicles from police, fire, ambulance and coastguard services, as well as the Hebrides Mountain Rescue Team took part with the Coastguard helicopter overhead.
They made a celebratory noise and flashed their lights as they toured the town centre and surrounding districts of Parkend, Newmarket and Marybank for more than an an hour, starting at 2pm.
Allowing for a socially-distanced, cheerful moment in what would otherwise have been a gloomy weekend for many, the noisy cavalcade was driven about town by emergency services staff and accompanying elves, santas and even reindeer.
The event was organised by Marie MacDonald and fellow team members at Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
