Restrictions around outdoor socialising for those in Level 1 are to be relaxed to allow 8 people from 3 households to meet outdoors, from today, Thursday November 19.

From tomorrow, November 20, it will be put into law that no unnecessary travel is to be made into or out of level 3 and 4 areas, such as Glasgow and Edinburgh.

If you are thinking of travelling, the guidance for Level 1 areas is that you should minimise unnecessary journeys between any areas in different levels.

If you plan to stay in a hotel, B&B or self-catering accommodation, you must only stay with your household or extended household. Remember to maintain social distancing with others outside your household or extended household during your stay.

If you have to travel for essential purposes, follow the Scottish Government guidance on travel and transport.

The Western Isles is one of five regions in Scotland in Level 1.
