A bespoke design of Harris Tweed created for the Scotland rugby team has expended into a range available to all team supporters, it was announced yesterday (Wednesday 18 November).

Custom designed in 2016 by Harris Tweed Hebrides’ then head designer, Ken Kennedy, the bespoke fabric incorporates the dark navy base of the national team’s playing jersey along with a subtle multi-windowpane pattern of rich blue, with purple and green to represent the colours of the thistle.

Scottish Rugby said yesterday: “The Murrayfield jacket was designed with your Scotland team in mind, being the go-to garment for post-match functions for the players, council and board members.

“The collection has grown over the past seasons to include garments for both men and women as well as a full range of accessories including caps, backpacks, bags and hip flasks.”

All the items in the range are now for sale through an exclusive partnership with tailoring specialists Walker Slater, at stores in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London and online at www.walkerslater.com.

In August 2019 Scottish Rugby announced Walker Slater, in conjunction with Harris Tweed Hebrides, as the official formalwear partner for the following two seasons.
