There were a series of callouts on Tuesday (15th September) related to incidents at sea around the Hebrides, reports HM Coastguard – Western Isles, Skye and Lochaber. 

0555 BST: Stornoway Coastguard Rescue Team and Stornoway RNLI Lifeboat tasked to search Stornoway Harbour after the report of an abandoned dinghy being found tied to pier ladders. Following enquiries, the owner was found at home and will arrange to collect dinghy.

0603 BST: Barra Coastguard Rescue Team tasked to establish landing site at Borve, Isle of Barra for Coastguard Helicopter R948. Site prepared and casualty passed to R948 for onward transfer.

1437 BST: RNLI Lifeboat 13-25 - normally based at Leverburgh – while on passage to Mallaig, was alerted to a risk involving a creel boat with one person on board which had engine problems seven miles north west of Leverburgh. However, the creel boat was able to make her own way to Leverburgh harbour where Harris Coastguard Rescue Team assisted berthing.

1742 BST: Harris Coastguard Rescue Team tasked to assist Scottish Ambulance Service with extraction of a casualty who had fallen approximately 500 metres from the car park at Luskentyre beach, Isle of Harris. Patient was transferred via stretcher carry to ambulance at the nearest road point.
