In another sign of the gradual return to normality, the Bethesda Hospice Charity Shop in Bayhead, Stornoway is set to reopen in early August.
On their Facebook Page they said this afternoon (Friday July 24): "We are please to announce that the shop will be reopening at 10am on Tuesday 4th August.
"We have, however, had to make some operational changes and we would kindly ask that you adhere to these changes. They have been put in place to protect our staff, volunteers and customers.
"Further information on these changes will follow and we thank you for your continued patience and support.
On .June 30, their previous Facebook Post stated: "We are aware that everyone is eagerly awaiting our reopening. However, we do not anticipate this happening for a number of weeks due to the changes within the shop to ensure we are compliant with the Scottish Government regulations on social distancing and the acceptance of donations.
"We thank you for your continued patience and co-operation at this time and we will update once we have a confirmed date for opening.
And reflecting the intensity of the initial lockdown crisis, on March 20, their previous Facebook post warned: "Due to the current situation with Covid-19 please DO NOT LEAVE donations at the shop door."
Of course, fundraising has continued in other ways out in the community. Only yesterday, Sandwick Bay Candles won praise on Twitter from the Spring & Autumn Fair - the UK"s top Gift and Home Trade show – for raising £69, 293 for Bethesda with a massive, runaway on-line raffle.
