Two pilot whales are currently swimming in the shallow waters of Broad Bay today (Friday 19 October.)

A spokesperson from British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) told that the whales were still swimming and were being monitored.

A number of people are on hand in case the whales get stranded.

The whales are said to be well offshore from Coll Beach.

However, the worry is that if they strand, they are often in large pods of couple hundred so the rest could be close by.

There was three whales together at first, possibly from a pod of 30 seen in Ullapool area earlier this week

The Coastguard are also attending the scene, amid concerns about the behaviour of watching humans rather than the whales.
