Entries are about to close for the popular annual Scalpay 10k road race, set for this Saturday (September 1st). The Scalpay to Tarbert 10K road race has a limit on places and is not open for on-the-day entrants, so if you intend to run the race you need to enter online by Thursday (August 30th).
It’s a popular annual event which attracts entrants from well beyond Harris. The course follows an undulating and picturesque route, with stunning views, from the Isle of Scalpay to the village of Tarbert.
Stornoway Running and Athletics Club will have a minibus running from Stornoway for club members. The race is open to all over-15s and adults and offers prizes for winners and runners-up in the open and first-placed veteran men (over 40) and women (over 35). All finishers get a medal like those pictured above.
