The Screen Machine is due in Tarbert next week, bringing blockbuster movies and family-friendly showings to Harris from Tuesday August 28th to Thursday August 30th.

The scheduled showings of Mamma Mia (Here We Go Again) are already selling fast, with the first showing on Tuesday evening (August 28th) at 8.30pm almost sold out.

Screen Machine keeps eight ‘on-the-door’ tickets for every showing, available 30 minutes before the film for cash only. They’re the only tickets still on offer for Tuesday’s sing-along romance, but a second screening of Mamma Mia at 2pm on Thursday (August 30th) has plenty of seats available.

The family-friendly animation Incredibles 2 is on Wednesday (August 29th) at 5.30pm, also selling well. It’s followed at 8.30pm by the period romance Mary Shelley.

Thursday’s full programme starts with Mamma Mia and continues with the Arabic-language film Wadjda, the first Saudi Arabian film to be directed by a woman, at 5.30pm. In the film a 10-year-old girl enters a Qur’an-reading competition to win enough money to buy a bicycle – despite knowing that her family and the whole of society frowns on girls going outside on their own.

The Tarbert visit ends on a roar with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom at 8.30pm. You can find out more about all the films and book tickets online by going to

The 80-seat digital mobile Screen Machine is sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland, funded by Creative Scotland and Highlands and Islands Enterprise and further supported by Caledonian MacBrayne.
