Unusual sunshine came to the aid of volunteers loading a truck with aid for Moldova in Kenneth Street, Stornoway, this evening.

Members of the Lewis Car Club, Stornoway Rugby Club, the local police and fire brigade and many others formed a human chain to move bag after bag of items and equipment donated by local wellwishers.

The items had been stored ready for loading in the top floor of the former Co-op Furniture store.  They will sent to Europe via Newcastle and will await customs clearance from Moldova in a bonded warehouse in the Netherlands.
