Bethesda hospice in Stornoway was the big winner after a football game between Back FC and a Ross County XI at the iconic Upper Coll football complex on July 26th.

And the Back team gathered to celebrate this success before their game at Goathill Park last night (August 12th).

And this was certainly a glorious twelfth for Bethesda as they netted £2,000 from the fundraising associated with the football game.  Last night Bethesda general manager Carol Summerville and Natalie Keiller, the Bethesda finance development officer, were there to latch on to the pass and carry the funds back to the hospice.

Helping the charity score from the spot was event organiser Kenny Maciver who would like to thank Ross County Football Club and Back Football Club for making this such a good result.

Also playing a key support role in the fundraising dugout were Alex ‘Moley’ Macleod and Duncan ‘Suggan’ Maclean, while the transport was provided by Calum Morrison of Galson Motors.

Since the start of June, Kenny has organised a veritable cup-run of events, starting with a seven-a-side football tournament and including an annual concert which, together, brought in more than £4000 for the Bethesda cause.

Missing from the photo are guest-players Fraser Macleod, James Macleod, Lewis Mackenzie, and Neil Morrison.
