Horshader have appointed Don Macdonald from South Shawbost as the new minibus driver/handyman. The aim of the project is to enable the community to enjoy a better quality of life through the community minibus facility and the handy person service. Don commented, “I am delighted to be part of this innovative project and look forward to assisting with delivery of this service.” Also shown in the photograph is Finlay J Maclennan, who will provide Admin Support for the Project.
Horshader are working with a focus group in the community to ensure that a range of needs are considered in delivering this service. It is hoped that with support from volunteer drivers, that the service will be as flexible as possible, ensuring that the bus in fully utilised for community benefit. The handyperson service will carry out basic DIY jobs in the community, with priority given to the most vulnerable. Horshader are very pleased to be able to offer this service to the community and look forward to rolling out the service on the 1st of June 2015.
