Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision on the A835 at Gorstan on the road between Garve and Ullapool, which occurred about 2pm yesterday (Sunday 25th February).  

The collision involved a red SEAT Léon and a white Audi S3.

The 20-year-old male driver of the Léon, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

The road was closed for more than nine hours until 11.30pm to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out.

Sergeant Chris Murray, of the road policing unit, said "Our thoughts are with the family of the young man involved in this tragic incident."

"Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal for anyone who saw these vehicles, who may have been travelling as part of a group, and who have not already spoken with officers, to come forward."
