Island ferry operators Caledonian MacBrayne warn travellers on the Ullapool to Stornoway route to ‘Be aware’ as ferry services are ‘highly likely’ to be cancelled today (Tuesday, November 28th).
“Please be advised that the 1400 from Stornoway and the 1730 from Ullapool are highly likely to be cancelled due to swell conditions in the Minch,” states CalMac, adding: “Customers are advised to travel from Tarbert to Uig at 1150 and from Uig to Tarbert at 1815.”
It is anticipated that the freight ferry services between Stornoway and Ullapool may also be affected by the heavy swell and warn customers to ‘be aware’ that the 2230 Stornoway-Ullapool service, and the 0300 Ullapool-Stornoway service, may be disrupted, delayed, or cancelled at short notice.

CalMac services between Oban and Castlebay, Barra, are also disrupted today and tomorrow (Wednesday, November 29th) due to high winds.
Today, Tuesday, the ferry will operate on an amended timetable, arriving in Oban at 1205 and departing again 40 minutes earlier than scheduled at 1300. It will arrive in Castlebay at 1745.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the amended timetable remains due to operational reasons with the ferry departing from Castlebay at 0530 to arrive in Oban at 1015; departing again at 1115 and arriving in Castlebay at 1600.
