Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has appointed Mr Angus Maclennan as Headteacher of E-Sgoil.

Mr Maclennan is currently Depute Rector at The Nicolson Institute in Stornoway and has previously worked at Sgoil a’ Bhac, The Nicolson Institute and as Education Officer at Museum nan Eilean.

Following school education at Sir E. Scott and The Nicolson Institute, Mr Maclennan attended the University of Glasgow, Jordanhill College of Education and the University of Aberdeen.

The new post will oversee the development and implementation of e-learning throughout schools across the Western Isles. E-Sgoil will help to provide equality of opportunity to students across the Western Isles.

Mr Maclennan, originally from Govig in Harris, and now based in Gress, is married to Lena and has three children – Annabel, Mairi and Calum.
