A brand new £25,000 softplay facility was officially opened on Harris today (Friday).
Several invited guests – both large and small – assembled at the former Croileagean building in West Tarbert to herald the opening of the colourful new play area.
The softplay is the result of a fundraising drive by the mothers of the ‘Rionnagan Oga’ children’s group.
Funding came from various bodies, including the North Harris Trust (who own the building), The Robertson Trust, and the National Lottery.
Parents had also organised a host of fundraising events, and special tribute was paid to Suzanne Curchod, originally from Switzerland and now living in Ardhasaig, who had been a regular contributor to Rionnagan Oga over the years.
Following a vote of thanks by Chirsty Macleod, chair of Rionnagan Oga, the new softplay was officially opened by Alasdair Macleod, of North Harris Trust, and Suzanne Curchod.
