Extra Sunday sailings during summer months have been announced by Caledonian MacBrayne for the Stornoway-Ullapool route.
Additional sailings are scheduled on Sundays between 26 June and 4 September, 2016.
The extra sailings will depart Stornoway at 8am, arriving in Ullapoool at 10.30am.
The normal Sunday sailing will depart for Ullapool at 3pm instead of 2.30pm, as is currently timetabled.
It has also been agreed to reschedule the departure from Ullapool on a Saturday evening to 7pm for the entire summer timetable.
Last year, CalMac had to bring in the Isle of Lewis to cope with demand on the route during summer months.
However, because that ferry is now in use between Oban and Castlebay over the summer months, it cannot be deployed here.
A report to the Comhairle's Transportation Committee stated that the local authority would continue its campaign for a similar provision this year.
