A National Conversation on a Healthier Scotland is taking place in Stornoway today, Thursday, November 26th, with an afternoon discussion underway, and a second session being held this evening.
Hosted independently by national third sector health and social care organisation ALLIANCE, on behalf of the Scottish Government, the Conversation events are taking place throughout Scotland's 32 local authorities until April 2016.
Outcomes from the Conversation events will be fed back to the Scottish Government as it forms its vision for the long term future of health and social care services in Scotland.
This afternoon, individuals and representatives from various groups and organisations met to discuss the Conversation's three broad questions: What support do we need in Scotland to live healthier lives? What areas of health and social care matter most to you? And Thinking about the future of health and social care services, where should our focus be?
There will be a second Conversation event held tonight, at Bayhead Bridge Centre, from 6pm-8pm (sandwiches, teas and coffees will be available).
