Stornoway High Church of Scotland will welcome their new Minister on Friday 22 March, when Lewis Presbytery will induct Rev Gordon Macleod to his new pastoral charge.

Gordon has been locum minister to the congregation since last summer, after a period as NHS Chaplain at Western Isles Hospital.

Before training for the ministry, he worked for 10 years in the Merchant Navy and for 20 years offshore.

In a social media statement this morning (Wednesday March 6th) a spokesman for the church said: “The Gaelic word for induction is ‘pòsadh’, the word for a marriage, and, for us, that is what this is. We look forward to welcoming Gordon, Diane and their two boys into the family of Stornoway High Church where we will work together, as a family, in anticipation of God’s blessing.”

Gordon’s induction takes place in Stornoway High Church of Scotland at 7pm on Friday 22nd March, with a social event to follow immediately afterwards in Stornoway Town Hall. All are warmly invited to attend.
