Islands Parliamentary candidate Alasdair Morrison has urged islanders to complete the short survey indicating which days the ferry, the Isle of Lewis, should provide additional sailings along side the Loch Seaforth.

Speaking after completing the survey, Alasdair Morrison said: "A concentrated and combined effort from people committed to securing an improved ferry service to Lewis embarrassed the Scottish Government into agreeing additional services to the island during the peak weeks of  the tourist season.

"Outer Hebrides Tourism is running an online survey and have indicated their preference for an additional sailing on a Monday, Friday and Saturday. In my view, their case is well argued and compelling. Additional sailings on those days would greatly benefit tourism providers. We must maintain pressure on the Scottish Government and its agencies to respond and listen to those best placed to take decisions about ferry services.

"The days of taking what mainland based government agencies decree as good for us must come to an end. I’d urge everyone to complete the short survey.”
