Two drivers have been charged with offences as police in Stornoway continue to actively target driver behaviour as part of Operation Cedar.

A woman aged 42 was stopped on Macaulay Road at 4.35pm yesterday (Thursday May 16th) after being seen using a mobile phone while driving.

She was cautioned and charged and has received a fixed penalty and six penalty points on her licence.

Yesterday evening at 7.35pm a man aged 24 was stopped in Coll, where he had been detected driving substantially above the speed limit.

He was cautioned and charged with dangerous driving and is to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
