Homes and businesses in the Back area are without power today (Friday May 3rd) after tree branches caused an interruption on the main overhead supply.

A spokesperson for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said that the fault was reported at 10.06am this morning, with engineers now on site carrying out emergency tree-cutting.

More than 190 properties in Back, Vatisker and Brevig are affected, including holiday accommodation and domestic properties.

SSEN are hoping to have power restored to all customers by 2pm and apologised to all customers for the inconvenience caused by the outage.
