Stornoway Coastguard helicopter R948 was sent to St Kilda this morning (Monday February 4th) to airlift a man who had fallen ill on the island.
Stornoway Coastguard received a call asking for advice from a doctor after the 56-year-old man experienced symptoms of a cardiac issue.
The doctor advised his immediate recovery to hospital.
R948 headed out to St Kilda at 10am and brought the man back to Stornoway, landing at 11.30am with ground support from Stornoway Coastguard Rescue Team.
From there a Scottish Ambulance crew took him directly to Western Isles Hospital.
