Two men who were arrested in Stornoway town centre in the early hours of Friday (November 9th) appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court yesterday (Tuesday November 13th).

At 11.30pm on Thursday (November 8th) police went to a residential address in the town after complaints of disturbance to neighbours. One man, aged 32, became hostile and aggressive and was arrested and charged with breach of the peace.

During his arrest a 35-year-old man assaulted a police officer and was subsequently arrested and charged with breach of the peace and police assault.

After a brief appearance in court from custody on Friday, the men were bailed to appear at Stornoway Sheriff Court yesterday (Tuesday November 13th).

They have now been bailed to appear again on a future date, also at Stornoway.
