Scotland’s Minister for Children and Young People is on a visit to Lewis today (Monday October 29th) with a tour of projects lined up.
Maree Todd is also an MSP for the Highlands and Islands. Her ministerial portfolio includes childcare and early years concerns including children’s services, adoption and fostering and the social service workforce.
This morning she visited Pairc Playgroup at Kershader, South Lochs, which has just reopened after the October break.
The playgroup offers childcare for children from the age of two and offers breakfast and after school clubs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Ms Todd is being hosted throughout her visit by islands MSP Alasdair Allan.
This afternoon she is scheduled to call in on the Foyer youth advocacy project and to meet representatives of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.
