A man who was reported missing from Oban on Monday (October 22nd) has been asked to make contact with Stornoway police, after a full-stretch investigation of his whereabouts.

23-year-old Declan Sutherland was last seen in Oban on Saturday night (October 20th) and his family reported him missing on Monday.

It’s believed he may have travelled abroad and is probably safe and well, but police will not be able to close the missing person enquiry until they have definite information.

He is now reported to have passed through Glasgow Airport since his disappearance was reported.

Declan has family connections to Lewis and knows people from school, from socialising in town and through his work at sea.

Police have asked anyone who has been in touch with him through social media or by email to contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference NH 2050/18.
