The Cuban Brothers
The Cuban Brothers are set to stop off in Stornoway in May as part of the group’s 20th anniversary Highlands and Islands tour.
In 2006 they appeared at the Isle of Skye Rock Festival where the audience was left stunned by their on-stage – and diving-off-stage – antics.
And tickets for their Stornoway show – taking place in Stornoway Sea Angling Club on Tuesday, May 1st – are already on sale.
The rest of the tour is: 26 April @ Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh; 27 April @ Blackstairs Lounge, Wick; 28 April @ The Sound Archive, Kirkwall ; 2 May @ Òran Mór, Glasgow ; 5 May @ Ironworks Venue, Inverness; and 6 May @ The Old Bridge, Aviemore
The band’s delirious rhythms, lighting wit, and gentle ribbing of world famous artists has seen them personally chosen to play by Elton John, Robbie Williams, and Richard Branson.
Off stage, their acclaimed debut album ‘To Bonita!’, which took the skittish dynamics of their live show into the studio, and TV and film appearances including ‘Ill Manors’, ‘Cuban Fury’ and ‘Sunshine On Leith’, continue to expose them to new audiences worldwide.
Of this tour they say: “We are celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year with two very special tours! We’re starting the party in New Zealand then heading back to where it all began for an intimate (naughty) tour of the Scotland Highlands & Islands!”
