A new book on crofting law was launched this week in Glasgow.
The book, A Practical Guide To Crofting Law, has been written by expert, Brian Inkster, and was launched at a reception held in the main law library of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow.
The Western Isles were represented at the event by Alasdair Allan MSP and Iain M Maciver, Factor of the Stornoway Trust.
TIG have a new project kicking off next week with their Energy in Transition - Energy Advice surgeries. The roadshow will be travelling around the islands offering free energy advice, information about how to minimise your contribution to climate change and their new Tesla electric car.
The TIG team will be in Barra at the Fire Station on Monday 17th June, 2.30 - 4.30pm, pop in for a chat and to see if you can save money on your energy bills!
More work is being done on the possibility of creating a multi-million-pound community campus on Barra to provide hospital, care, school and community services for the people of the island and of Vatersay.
Representatives of NHS Eileanan Siar and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar recently met in Castlebay with stakeholders from Barra and Vatersay to provide an update on the development and delivery of two major infrastructure projects for the islands.
There are currently two separate major investment projects being proposed for the islands.
