Last night, Thursday 29 March, both Stornoway and Leverburgh RNLI Lifeboats were launched to the aid of two separate fishing boat incidents.
At just after 8pm Stornoway RNLI Lifeboat and the Stornoway Coastguard Rescue Helicopter launched at the request of HM Coastguard Stornoway to the aid of a small fishing vessel that was taking on water near Lemreway.
The lifeboat arrived in Loch Shell and took the vessel, with one person on board, under tow to safety.
Leverburgh RNLI Lifeboat also launched last night, at 22.17 Leverburgh were called to aid a fishing vessel with engine failure north west of Skye.
While on their way there, another vessel in the vicinity took the fishing vessel under tow and Leverburgh Lifeboat was stood down.
