A drop-in event is being held in Knock Community Hall tonight (Tuesday) from 6pm to 8pm, targeted at anyone who thinks they may be eligible for a heating upgrade in their home.

The event is being run by Union Technical Services, and director Owen Coyle is urging anyone who is interested to come along.

He said: "Specifically, funding is available for those who are on benefits, live in a private dwelling (ie landlord) or they own the property and are having issues with their heating systems.

"That can be oil boilers, LPG boilers and storage heaters. If they qualify we can replace existing heating systems if they have issues."

He added: "This scheme is not government funded, but utility funded. Utility firms are spending money they are obliged to spend, to hit targets set by the government.

"We have utility partners that we work with and it is their money that we are spending here on the islands."
