The weather forecasts for the next couple of days predict a period of calm weather - but it is expected to get more windy again on Thursday afternoon, with winds from 35mph to 50 mph overnight into Friday.

Meanwhile CalMac ferries are returning to normal throughout the Outer Hebrides, except in relation to Barra where the disruption affecting ferries from Oban continues.  A range of services from Mallaig are also still cancelled or disrupted.

Marking the end of the disruption to air services, today's first flight from Glasgow to Stornoway landed 20 minutes earlier than scheduled.
