This year, Stornoway will host the first ever Carnival Midsummer Charity Ball, organised by the Lewis Carnival Committee. The night will also hold the final of the all new Carnival King & Queen Competition.

The ball promises to be a night of glitz and glamour, raising money for local charities.

The ball, which will take place in Stornoway Town Hall on Friday June 10, will commence at 6.30pm, when guests will be treated to a wee drink on arrival, and dinner is scheduled to be served at 7pm.

The dinner will be a fabulous 3-course meal, catered by Titchy Pitch – who will also be bringing along their popular cocktail pod.

MCs for the night will be Fiona MacKenzie and Niall Iain MacDonald, and the night’s entertainment will include an auction and a raffle, music from Catch22 and the Dun Ringles, and the final of the Carnival King and Queen Competition 2016.

The Carnival King & Queen competition will give islanders the chance to nominate someone who they think deserves a little bit of recognition.

Perhaps you know someone who has raised a lot of money for charity, or someone who does a lot of work for the community. Well, the Carnival Committee wants to hear about them!

Now is your chance to nominate someone to be in with the chance of being crowned Carnival King or Queen 2016.

The competition is guaranteed to be a lot of fun on the night, whilst recognising the important work done by people within our community.

Those attending the ball will be given the opportunity to cast their vote to decide who out of the finalists they would like to see crowned Carnival King & Queen.

The night’s dress code is formal, and people are encouraged to dress as fancy as they like – it is a ball after all!
