The indoor facilities at Back Football Club are the best in the world, according to former Hearts and Scotland striker, John Colquhoun.

The amazing claim was made in Lewis this afternoon, as Colquhoun and former Hearts youth coach Darren Murray led island coaches in ‘Boxsoccer’ training sessions.

“I have coached at venues all over the world and I can honestly say that the facilities this morning were the best I have ever been in,” said Colquhoun.

“The venue is absolutely incredible.”

Boxsoccer is an innovative football development training programme designed by Ian Cathro (formerly of Dundee United and Valencia, now assistant manager at Newcastle FC).

While on the island, both John Colquhoun and Darren Murray also assessed the potential of several Lewis youngsters.

Colquhoun said: “I am confident that in the next ten years, with the correct approach and development, we will see a player from Lewis and Harris playing in the English Premiership.

“I’m not just saying that. I’ve seen the potential with my own eyes.”
