Outer Hebrides Tourism says its conference programme is shaping up nicely, with lots of interesting topics and ways in which you can participate. Here are a couple of snippets for you:
"We will be introducing the new official Outer Hebrides food and drink trail: Eat Drink Hebrides. This will be a chance to find out more about the trail and how you can sign up in time for the launch in early 2016. If you are a champion of local Hebridean food and drink, whether you are a food producer, café or shop then we would like to see you there. In the meantime if you are interested in participating then please get in touch with Victoria at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

"We will also be launching Our Hebridean Welcome which is a free online training module incorporating Outer Hebrides destination information and customer service training. So if you are working in any area of hospitality/retail/taxi’s/car-hire/bus operator, please come along and find out more about this exciting new training module.

Gaelic and the Scots Language, The Visitor Experience – iBook Review

We have been asked by HIE for 5 businesses from a variety of tourism sectors to review a new guide book that they are developing: TIS guide on ‘Gaelic and the Scots Language, The Visitor Experience’. This guide is based around highlighting the opportunities our language and its culture presents. The guide is being produced as an iBook with interactive features and HIE are offering £50 for the review

This is what they are looking for:

“We are looking for 5 businesses in your area from a variety of tourism sectors whether it is an attraction, shop, hotel, pub, restaurant, activity provider or travel supplier. We do need a good mix to ensure the content of the guide meets everyone’s’ needs. We appreciate it’s a busy time of year for everyone but do hope you can help us. We are able to offer each person £50 for the review they undertake.”

You can download the iBook here https://itunes.apple.com/gb/book/gaelic-scots-language-visitor/id1030752267?mt=11
