High winds and high tides have once again led to the closure of te Braighe causeway this monring at about 8.50am
Seven cars were reported to be waiting on the Point side at 8.55am
Western Isles Police tweeted at 8.52 - "Western Isles Police would like to advise Braighe now closed. Updates to follow.
Please continue to drive safely on all Island roads, there is still surface water on some roads."
A few minutes earlier the Western Isles Coastguard Facebook Page stated: "We are on scene at the Braighe with Highland & Islands Police Division and the Braighe will shut shortly. If crossing before the closure is in place please exercise caution as it is being affected by waves and debris overtopping the sea wall."
